HOP WTR: Sparkling Water That Helps You Relax

by Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski Leave a Comment

Do you enjoy drinking sparkling water? I find it refreshing and a nice change from flat water. There are so many brands on the market, but what makes one stand out from another?

I was invited to attend a sparkling water tasting by a brand called Hop WTR. It’s unusual because it’s made with hops, like beer, but is non-alcoholic. It is infused with stress-reducing adaptogens and nootropics that make you feel mellow without the buzz.

HOP WTR comes in a variety of flavors, including classic (unflavored), peach, lime, mango, and blood orange.  My favorites were the classic and the blood orange. If you want to try all of them, you can order a mixed pack. It also features a spiced apple flavor for the holidays.

One of the ingredients that impressed me was Ashwagandha, an herb that supports the body’s natural ability to cope with stress. I’ve taken it as a supplement to relax, and I could feel its effects when I tasted Hop WTR. It is a curated blend that includes Citra, Amarillo, Mosaic, and Azacca.

I normally prefer plain sparkling water without flavor, but I found that the natural fruit flavorings in Hop WTR do not have the fake taste that most flavored water has. The taste is pleasant.

How HOP WTR came to be

HOP WTR is the brainchild of two millennials, Jordan and Nick, who moved from single life to becoming parents. This responsibility meant they had to become “adults” and give up their fancy-free days of beer drinking. They wanted to recreate the flavor of hops, sans the alcohol, but still retain the feeling of mellowness you get from downing a pint. Another plus is that Hop WTR has no calories, carbs, or sugar like beer, and is much healthier. It is gluten and GMO-free.

Where to find HOP WTR

You can find Hop WTR in the beer aisle in selected stores as well as online.
