I appreciate your interest in contributing to BabyBoomster.com. To maintain the integrity and focus of this website, please read the following writer guidelines. If you cannot meet my requirements, do not submit your content.
Who can guest post
- I only allow guest posts from writers 50 AND OLDER with a personal and not a brand website. Experts with knowledge of topics specific to my audience of active women over 50 may also be accepted, such as doctors, financial experts, or other professionals.
- I DO NOT accept posts from content marketing companies.
- According to BabyBoomster’s Google Analytics, the most popular topics on this website are beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle.
- BabyBoomster’s demographic is technically “elderly,” but geriatric concerns such as nursing homes, adult diapers, hearing aids, etc are not covered here. (Those topics are important but would be better served elsewhere. Please read my about page.
- A guest post is not your opportunity to hard sell your product. It is to provide valuable and helpful information to its readers. Links to shopping or affiliate marketing pages will be removed.
- If you are an author, I will promote your Amazon link on your post, but prefer you write a story about your writing journey or something complementary to your book without being salesy.
Technical requirements
Writers may link to their website and ONE or TWO reference links if they provide useful information pertinent to the article.
Please write EVERGREEN rather than seasonal or topical articles. Provide tips and personal insights on topics that range from travel, fashion, beauty, wellness, entertainment, finance, or other lifestyle categories.
I reserve the right to add internal and external links, including affiliate links.
Break up non-indented paragraphs into readable chunks and use H2 or H3 headers (not bolded). Always adhere to best SEO practices. Write headlines that include the content’s main keyword and write it in a way that will compel visitors to read the post. (70 characters max)
I may edit your post for brand consistency, SEO purposes, spelling/grammar, and language. My audience is majority USA-based, so words like “whilst” or “hence” are sort of awkward. No offense to British writers.
Your post will be scheduled according to my editorial calendar, so please don’t ask for a deadline or send a reminder email.
Once your post is accepted, please submit a two-sentence bio. I will also require your email address and a preferably square headshot.
Attach your post in a Microsoft Word document or link to a Google Drive document. Do not paste it directly in an email. Posts should be approximately 600 – 2000 words in length.
If you have original photos that are free from copyright and available to share, you can attach them to your email. This is optional. If you don’t have images, I will provide them.
Original Content
All submissions must be original content not published anywhere else on the web.
DO NOT submit AI-generated content.
Posts must include personal and valuable insights and not be bland or formulaic. Knowledge of basic SEO is expected.
Once your article has been published, it is the property of BabyBoomster.com and may be removed at my discretion if it becomes irrelevant. (For instance: You wrote about COVID protocol, and it is no longer valid.) Links may also be removed if they are reported to be broken.
In return for posting your content for free, I would appreciate it if you share it on social media, as I will do the same.
If you meet these guidelines, you may send your guest post submission to rebecca@babyboomster.com.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Rebecca Forstadt Olkowski
