Jewish Gifts to Tickle Your Funnybone

July 5, 2018 by Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski 2 Comments

Several years ago, I met two funny Jewish sisters, Davida and Sybil, at a networking event. They have a business called Davida Aprons and sell Jewish gifts like matzah-themed tchotchkes, aprons, and other kitsch décor items always with a sense of humor. They’re both Baby Boomers and have been in business since 1980.

Davida Aprons sells Jewish gifts - tchotchkes, aprons, Passover gifts and more with a sense of humor

One of my favorite products is their “Let My People Go” toilet seat cover printed on top of a matzah background.

Do you play Mah Jongg?

Stock up on Mah Jongg-inspired bibs, aprons, oven mitts, towels, tablecloths, pillowcases, pants, purses, hats, and bags to completely accessorize your next game along with all your friends. It doesn’t matter if you’re a shiksa, because anyone can play Mah Jongg.

Find their Mah Jongg gifts here.

Mah Jongg originated in China during the Qing Dynasty. Somehow it became popular with Jewish ladies in New York. The whole thing is kind of a mystery.

Mah Jongg, anyone?

Be a Kurlfriend!

Davida and Sybil have also developed a hair product line called Kosher Kurls. It celebrates boingy hair by making your kurls kurlier while still leaving your hair soft. Kosher Kurls shampoo is sulfate-free. You can order it with Deep Everyday Conditioner or Leave-in “Shmear” Conditioner.
