Summer is here but in Los Angeles, we are experiencing gloom. It’s rained so much this year we were more like Seattle than sunny LA. The sky has been overcast and it’s still chilly enough to wear a sweater.
I was out in Malibu this weekend for a fundraiser benefiting Operation Smile and a little blue sky made its way through. Though it was still overcast, the event was fabulous, and much money was raised for a worthy cause. It took me an hour and ½ to get there from Pasadena, but it was worth it.
The good news is, that my YouTube channel, @RebeccaOver60 has been booming lately. I’m almost up to 1,000 subscribers and most of it has been because I did a video about not wearing mascara anymore. Who knew?
The bad news is that my Facebook page @BabyBoomster got taken over by some jerks from the Czech Republic and try as I may, I can’t get it back. I called a number online for Facebook support and it turned out to be a hacker that stole money from my Venmo. I got the money back, but my account is still frozen pending further investigation. Venmo has been super helpful and I am sure the situation will be resolved. However, I needed more than one glass of wine to relax.

Laurie Stone
Life changes us. We get older and things that matter when we’re young—career, status, and good hair days—matter less. Laurie always prided herself on having an extensive bucket list: travel, eating exotic food, dog sledding. She still craves adventure and experience. But with each passing year, her bucket list is shrinking. Here are five things she thought she wanted to do, but now feels “meh” about…

Life changes can actually be enlightening and fun, when we get more than one point of view.
Rita R. Robison
The debate is heating up over harmful emissions from gas stoves, says Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist. A lawsuit filed against the maker of GE Appliances alleges that the company is violating consumer protection laws by failing to warn consumers that gas stoves produce air pollution at levels that can be harmful to human health.
Meryl Baer
