It’s Memorial Day Weekend 2025, and a time to remember all who were lost in wars and conflicts past and present in the United States. It’s also a weekend of picnics, family time, and entertainment.
Last weekend, I was in Cleveland, Ohio, attending a wedding. The next day, my family and I made a pilgrimage to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Many of the guests were Baby Boomers, which makes sense since Rock & Roll was at its zenith while we were growing up.
The museum is located on the shores of Lake Erie, and was my first sojourn to one of the Great Lakes. I live on the Pacific Coast, but the lake’s vastness left me in awe.
Meanwhile, our Baby Boomers bloggers were busy writing and enjoying the weekend. These are their thoughts.

Laurie Stone
Laurie’s terrier Libby has a beloved pastime, and she could do it all day if Laurie let her. Trouble is, she wouldn’t get anything done. It’s hard to relax when Libby’s performing this ritual, so only a few times a day is she given free rein, so to speak….
Carol Cassara
Carol’s got an important message for everyone this week. “If you are a senior or plan to be one, pay attention!” It’s advice, a warning and a don’t miss on her blog.
Meryl Baer
During cold, dark days of winter and rainy spring days, it seems summer may never appear. But finally, the unofficial start of summer is here! Meryl Baer of Musings of a Shore Life describes in this week’s post the changes in her town as the area wakes from its long off-season slumber.
A final thought
The soldiers we memorialize on Memorial Day fought to defend our Democracy. We must always be vigilant to ensure it remains intact for future generations. Its existence is being tested. Don’t let it die in darkness.
Nice to hear from our blogging friends on Memorial Day, a day for remembering and as the unofficial beginning of summer.
