As a blogger and a professional voiceover actor, I use headphones often and prefer them to earbuds for comfort. I was excited to try out Soundcore SPACE Q45 Noise Canceling Headphones by Anker.
Now that many air passengers bring their own devices to listen to news and entertainment, and some flights don’t offer even simple earplugs, it’s essential to bring your own. With noise-canceling headphones, it’s easy to zone out the action that is taking place on an airplane so you can fully concentrate and hear better.
I was on a flight not long ago that offered earplugs, but I could barely hear the movie I was trying to watch.
There may be other reasons you want a decent pair of headphones. For instance, you may work on your computer in a loud coffee house or not want to disturb others in your home who may be sleeping.
You could also take them on a walk to listen to music or an audiobook on your phone. Just make sure you don’t filter out all the sound so you can hear what may be coming at you. You can do this on your phone by switching to transparency using the Soundcore smartphone app. It will also allow you to customize the sound quality.
I made a short video of me unboxing my headphones.

Once you charge the Soundcore headphones using a USB cable, they will play for 50 hours before needing another charge.
The Soundcore SPACE Q45 works with a 3-stage noise canceling system that targets and reduces noise from low, mid, and high frequencies up to 98%. You can’t get much better than that.
Another thing I like is that they are super comfortable and cover my ears. The set I was previously using had smaller ear pads. Soundcore headphones are more like what I would use in a professional recording studio. They don’t make creaky noises when I move, which can mess up a take when I record.
Many people are recording podcasts and Soundcore SPACE Q45 headphones would work well.
Getting Started using Soundcore SPACE Q45 Headphones
Once the headphones are charged up, you can pair them with your device of choice. Just go to your Bluetooth settings, press the power button on the right ear pad for 2 seconds, and it will quickly find the headphones over WIFI.
The headphones can connect with two devices at the same time. Press the power button twice to pair them with another device.
Comfort is key
Headphones can often be tight and give you a headache. Soundcore SPACE Q45 fits nicely without being too snug and the ear pads are super soft around the ears. The headband is also nicely padded. You can adjust the speaker volume on the right ear pad to your preference.
Each ear pad is marked Left and Right so you don’t have to squint to see which is which. Many times, you can’t tell on other headphones.
The set comes with cables that will plug into your phone or an interface if you need it.
Another plus about the Soundcore SPACE Q45 headphones is that they come in a convenient zippered carrying case that is easy to pack up and travel with or store without damage.
Soundcore SPACE Q45 currently sells for $149.99 and is available in black or white.
Drawbacks?
The only thing I find frustrating with my headphones is that I have to reconnect my Bluetooth if I walk away from my computer for too long. It may be that I have other devices connected that kick me off. I can’t just press a button on the headphones to “wake them up.” Sometimes it takes more than one try. However, this could be an operator error on my part.
There are other brands that are more expensive with richer sound if you are super fussy but for most people who want a comfortable, clear, and affordable set of headphones, SoundCore SPACE Q45 is more than adequate. I know I will be using mine all the time.
