Gary Poppins Popcorn Review

July 9, 2018 by Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski 2 Comments

Popcorn is an American tradition. It’s the first thing I think about eating when I go to the movies and is always a nutritious snack. When Gary Poppins, a Gourmet Popcorn Company, asked me to try some of their flavors in single-serving bags I had to say yes because I’m always up for a tasty treat. The idea of ordering 3-oz packs of one of my favorite foods is a great way to control the munchies and still enjoy it. Any help I can get to not overeat is always appreciated. LOL! If a bowl or theatre-size bag of popcorn is in front of me, I’ll mindlessly eat the whole thing.

The story of Gary Poppins Popcorn – a family-owned company

The mission of Gary Poppins Gourmet Popcorn is to change the way the world thinks about popcorn, one kernel at a time, by teasing your taste buds with their unique and inventive flavor creations. All their products are shipped fresh from the popper and they always use the finest ingredients. Each package contains whole grain non-GMO corn, made fresh daily that’s popped in small batches so you get perfection in every bag. What’s very cool is that its all made in the U.S.A.

Bring on the popcorn!

My package arrived, and I couldn’t wait to open it. Inside were 6 tempting flavors for me to try. I went immediately for the Kettle Corn. When you go to festivals and fairs, isn’t that the go-to flavor you crave? I know it is for me. It was sweet, but not overly so and each puff of corn was perfectly popped. There weren’t any burned pieces or tiny crumbles in the bag. They use a little bit of sea salt but it wasn’t too salty either.

Look at the ingredient label below to see what’s inside

The next sample I tried was Classic Cheddar. Being a cheese head, I could sit and eat that flavor all day. It’s light with just enough sea salt and was gone in a flash. They make it with real cheddar cheese that’s been dried. My only objection is that it contains some artificial coloring to make it bright orange but it’s seriously delicious!

You can also get your cheese fix satisfied with White Cheddar Jalapeno and Caramel Cheddar Kettle. Can we say YUM?

Classic Caramel is a crispy combination of sweet creamery butter and brown sugar that’s been caramelized.

For the purist, you will enjoy Creamery Butter made simply with clarified butter. coconut oil, and sea salt. It doesn’t get any better.

If you’re craving these flavors, you can order various sizes of the product up to a 6.5-gallon tin.  They all make wonderful gifts that you can give during the holidays or on special occasions.

I only tried a small sampling. . .

Other delectable flavors are available on their website in both savory and sweet concoctions. If you have a sweet tooth you’ll probably enjoy Dark & White Chocolate Caramel or Apple Cinnamon Crunch. If you’re a cheese head like me, how about Bacon-Y Cheddar Ranch? It makes me drool just thinking about them.

This post has been sponsored by Gary Poppins Popcorn and I have received free samples of the product as well as compensation for posting it. However, all my opinions are my own.

So how about it? Are you hungry yet?
