I received three products to try out and review from Mudita Earth, a plant-based skincare line. They were the Bamboo Exfoliating Cleanser, Blueberry & Papaya Rejuvenating Serum, and Pomegranate and Papaya Revitalizing Day Cream. Sounds good enough to eat, right?
Mudita Earth is a woman-owned skincare brand that is 100% plant-based. It is designed to fight the environmental factors that age skin faster. The brand is the brainchild of scientist/researcher Jessica Chopra who, along with her daughter, run the business.
Aging skin is caused mostly by environmental stressors from pollution, free radicals, and UV rays. Only 10% of aging is from age itself. Chopra’s research found that nettle, rosemary, blueberry, papaya, and pomegranate oils protect against those stressors.
The motto behind the company is “clean science for clean beauty,” meaning science goes into choosing what plant-based ingredients are used. But, just because a product is 100% plant-based doesn’t mean it is always effective. Some botanicals and essential oils can cause adverse allergic reactions in certain people. It all depends on the individual.
Be assured that Mudita Earth products are free of parabens, artificial colors and fragrances, silicones, and polyethylene glycols (PEGs).
Jessica Chopra grew up immersed in the Ayurvedic tradition which emphasizes taking care of health and wellness in a holistic way. Her approach to how she creates her products is based on Ayurveda practice which goes back thousands of years and can be very effective.
My impression of the products
The first thing that caught my eye was the attractiveness of the packaging. The brand gets an A+ in that department. The boxes, bottles, and jars are all enticing. Out of the three skincare products I tried, I liked two out of three.
Bamboo Exfoliating Cleanser
This product uses bamboo powder as its exfoliant ingredient. It is gritty which is a clear “no” for me. I am against abrasive exfoliants as I mentioned in my post: 5 Skincare Products that Mature Women do not Need. They can easily damage your skin over time especially as it gets more fragile with age. The powder is combined with rose water, jojoba oil, and shea butter which is good, but I would personally avoid using it.
Blueberry and Papaya Rejuvenating Serum
The serum goes on smoothly and contains hyaluronic acid, which is a plus as well as Vitamin B5, Honey, and Squalane. It is recommended for normal to dry skin.
I found it to be pleasant. Papaya works well for itchy and scaly skin and for people who have eczema or psoriasis. It also contains vitamin C which can help to combat wrinkles. My skin felt nicely hydrated after using it.
Pomegranate & Papaya Revitalizing Day Cream
The day cream was my favorite although it doesn’t contain SFP so you can use it day or night. I have dry skin and it made my skin feel hydrated immediately without feeling heavy. It is formulated with a rose water base and has a barely noticeable natural fragrance. Other ingredients include argan oil, squalane, shea butter, and olive oil which are all excellent. It does contain some essential oils and fruit extracts that could cause adverse reactions if you are allergic.
Other than the pomegranate and papaya enzymes that have been proven to aid in the recovery of damaged skin, I’m not sure about the effectiveness of the other ingredients. I couldn’t find any studies or reviews by dermatologists about Mudita Earth products online as it is new so I can only give you my personal impression.
My final thoughts about Mudita Earth
Both the serum and the day cream are worth trying out and they would also make a nice gift set because of the brand’s pretty packaging. However, I would leave out the cleanser. That is based on my personal opinion and the opinions of dermatologists I’ve been listening to.
I’ve always been a big fan of Ayurveda and if you are concerned about skincare ingredients you will not have to worry about Mudita Earth. The company employs strict formulation, manufacturing, and environmentally friendly practices.

I was given samples of Mudita Earth to try but all my opinions are my own to form this review.
