How Nicola Fernandes Can Help You Develop Self Love

by Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski 6 Comments

Nicola Fernandes is a woman over 50 who has been a speaker, life coach, and shaman for a decade. She works with clients all over the world to help them become their most authentic selves by moving them from self-sabotage, fear, and doubt into building self-worth, self-love, and success.

I interviewed her on Zoom to find out more about what she does and how she helps her clients.

Highlights of our interview

Nicole has a delightful personality and I know you will LOVE what she has to say in the video.

How did you get started and what is it that you do to help people?

Before becoming a life coach and shaman, Nicola was very career-driven, studied business administration, and was quite successful working in that realm. Her 2nd child was diagnosed with autism which shifted her entire world. The doctors weren’t giving her the answers she needed so she dug deeper into therapy, homeopathic remedies, and energy healing.

She went to many seminars to learn more and every time Nicola came home from one, her daughter appeared to be better. She was searching for the reason she brought her daughter into her life and how it could help her improve herself. The more she learned, the more her daughter was able to let go. With each instance, Nicola got a new perspective which allowed her daughter to progress.

She also learned that as much as we want to change other people, we can only change ourselves. This realization inspired her to use what she learned to help other people as well. She realized that when you nurture self-love, everything else falls into place.

She developed a wholeness mastery method that she uses with her clients to help them connect with themselves in an empowering way.

You are a Neurolinguistic Programmer. Can you explain what that is?

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is about watching your words. That means being totally aware that without our words, spoken out loud or thinking about them we can create what we want in life. Using key words, NLP helps you manifest your desires.  For instance, instead of saying “This hasn’t happened,” you would say, “This hasn’t happened, yet.”

It allows you to program your unconscious to make you more aware of your language patterns.

Do you use hypnosis with your clients?

It’s not exactly hypnosis. It’s more like a trance that we both go into. That way it is much easier to access the unconscious. I combine shamanism (energetic healing) with the rewiring of the mindset into all different dimensions. (your physical body, your future, your past, your healed self, and into your soul) Each of the layers intersects with the other. I work with my clients until it becomes ingrained and they evolve.

How do you incorporate shamanism into it?

I am very intuitive and guided so sometimes we need to do energy healing or a journey. If we travel in the body, I often take my clients through shamanistic journeys because it’s easier for them to be in that trance state and then come into the body.

I don’t believe everything is just in the mind. There are energetics and ancestral aspects from a lineage that are easier to clear with shamanism.

Do you do this online or in person?

Most of my clients are on Zoom. Some, who have been with me for a long time, may meet with me for the entire day. I also have courses that are live recordings or partially live recordings so it is a self-study depending on where a person is at individually.

How did you get involved with the Oscars gifting suite?

I separated from my husband after 26 years of marriage last year and I asked myself what else am I supposed to do in life. Before that, I had a great marriage, and everything was fine.  The message I got was to bring self-love to thousands or millions of people. That is my goal so I put my intention out there and it all fell into place. I was awarded Best Life Coach in New York which I didn’t submit for. Then, I signed up with a PR agency that got me a place at the Oscar gifting suite.

What coaching programs do you offer?

When I work one on one with people it is for at least 6 months and they commit to becoming a whole different person when it is over. They learn to connect to the love they have for themselves and it radiates out into their life. We create a board room in the invisible world that brings in different energies to make it happen.

That allows tons of stuff to get cleared. They open up, become a different person, and are able to move forward.

I also have group programs. They aren’t as fine-tuned as my one-on-ones because I am not in the same room but they are still effective.

What tips can you give my readers on how they can achieve self-love?

We are so mind-oriented. As women, we are so smart but almost too smart for our own good and trick ourselves with our thinking. What I see as the biggest step is dropping into your heart.  When you connect to your heart, start thinking from it, and begin to trust your feelings, you will radiate and pull in the things that you want.

It is not logic, or what is rational, or what would make sense because that is all in the head. Instead, ask yourself “What do I love to do in life?” Trust that it’s there because you are supposed to do it. You can also ask, “Heart, what is it I really want to do today?” “What would make my day the most joyful?”

If you focus on doing what brings you joy, you will automatically fill up with love. Don’t try to plan as much but rather be in the flow.  It doesn’t have to be something huge like “I want to hike Mt. Everest.” It could be something simple like, “I want to go for a walk, and what time is better than right now?”

The 2nd step is not to question it.  Don’t find excuses for not doing it or feel guilty when you do.  Once you decide to go for the walk, that is the best thing ever. Why? Because you are doing it.  When we do things and then question why we did them, it erases the whole thing.

If you do what brings you joy every day, and feel it’s the best ever, your whole life will start shifting.
