This week was difficult in that Israel went to war with Hamas in Palestine and it has been horrific. The week before, I attended a Yom Kippur service in Beverly Hills. I’m Jewish but not particularly religious and was there because I was invited as a writer. However, it was inspiring.
The temple I attended is home to many in the entertainment community here in Los Angeles, so it always has special guest speakers. Yom Kippur is when Jews ask for atonement and forgiveness for past offenses.
I stand for Israel in this matter as the incident was barbaric but also have sympathy for the innocents on both sides who are simply trying to live their lives in peace and harmony. Sadly, war and warmongers sacrifice them brutally.
