We are officially in Spring and after some insanely cold weather for us wimps in Los Angeles, it is finally sunny and pleasant. The rain we got was heavy and cold. It was enough to put snow on the mountains but is now producing super blooms all over the southland. I have yet to go to one of the flower fields but saw a few clusters while driving to San Diego a few weeks ago.
Earth Day is also coming up on April 22nd and I am working on a campaign for Keep Nature Wild to clean up my neighborhood by picking up trash to fill up this biodegradable trash bag. If everyone filled up just one trash bag from a littered street it would make a huge difference. #wildkeepers
I just got back from Los Cabos in Mexico with my daughter who is planning her wedding there in January. I’m excited!

Rita R. Robison
Although April isn’t one of the best months of the year to look for deals, compare prices to see where and how much you can save. Check the article by Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist, to see what some possibilities are, such as cookware and athletic shoes. Robison also lists what to avoid buying in April because they’re usually on sale near big holidays.
Laurie Stone
You know the feeling. You get comfortable in life until something pulls you out of your routine. You’re forced to stop, watch, and listen. This happened one time on a Good Friday when Laurie’s 22-year-old son Paul ended up in the emergency room.
Meryl Baer
Meryl Baer of Beach Boomer Bulletin met with friends this week. Indulging in a bit of travel nostalgia, she relayed an anecdote about a bucket list trip, discussed in a blog post from the past.
And Me!
I wanted to share my favorite Spring Salad recipe that I’m making for an Easter BBQ. It has a raspberry vinaigrette and is topped with strawberries, Persian cucumbers, and sugar snap peas. It’s sooooooo yummy!
We would love it if you would share these posts on your social media and leave comments. It helps our blogs grow!

I love what you are doing for our environment. Does not surprise me one bit.
Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski says
Thanks, Carol. I try. LOL
Laurie Stone says
I love that idea of filling up one bag each. It would add up. I can’t pass any trash when I walk my dog, even if its not near our house. Never understand how people can litter.
Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski says
I can’t understand it either, Laurie. Some people were just not brought up well, I guess.
