I got to try out a Baketivity Baking Kit for Grinch-style green-filled Donuts. The company sells subscription baking kits that let you share the love of baking with your grandkids or any other kid you love.
Each kit comes with most of the ingredients pre-measured and ready to go. The only things you may need to provide are butter, eggs, cooking spray, or milk, and equipment like bowls and a cooling rack.
The recipes are easy to make. Because they involve using an oven, they must be adult-supervised but that gives you the opportunity for some quality bonding time.
My kit had an oven-proof rubber baking tray to cook the donuts in. It was a little floppy but could be placed on a baking sheet to keep it steady.
I had fun making the donuts but couldn’t get my roommate to taste one because she was repelled by the green cream. It was supposed to resemble Nickelodeon-style slime. I could have left out the food coloring. LOL. Kids will love it, though.
The donuts tasted fantastic but as I don’t have grandchildren yet, so I was forced to eat them all.
The kits are adorable and make great gifts. One kit is a Gingerbread House. Others include pretzels, cake pops, all sorts of cookies, bagels, granola bars, and much more.
Easy to make recipes so you can focus on the fun
Each recipe is simple, so you don’t have to think too much but they teach kids lessons in baking.
This idea is much better than an Easy Bake Oven and much tastier. I wish Baketivity was around when we were kids. As an adult, I found it to be a relaxing activity.
Baketivity offers no-mess baking for kids
I loved to bake as a kid and my mom made many Betty Crocker cakes. What’s great about Baketivity is that there is little cleanup involved. You don’t have to worry about measuring as all the dry ingredients come premeasured in plastic bags. All you do is toss the bag into the trash.
Baketivity also sells several baking and cooking sets for kids that include cooking utensils such as a rolling pin, baking mat, measuring tools, and whisk. A recipe book is also available with over 50 kid-friendly recipes.
