Israeli designer Hagar Alembik has created an urban line of clothing for her company Alembika. It caters to women of all ages and sizes who truly want to be themselves. I was gifted a tunic from the Rose Collection along with a pair of Jess Crinkle Punto pants to try out.
Punto pants poof out at the bottom giving them an Aladdin-style shape. I was concerned a large tunic would be too shapeless for my 5’2″ height so I chose one with a deep slit neckline to complement my bust line. Both pieces fit perfectly and are amazingly comfortable.
The fabric is meant to be crinkly, so ironing is not an issue. My ensemble would be lovely to take on a vacation at a resort or wear to an artsy party in town.
About the company
Alembika was founded by Amembik who graduated from the Shenkar School of Design. Her partner is anthropologist Dr, Judy Fadlon. Women of any shape or size can look fabulous in the designs as the company specializes in clothing for women in the middle and larger sizing range.
Designs range from soft and understated to wearable colorful art. Pieces can be layered or mixed and matched to fit a woman’s mood and sense of style. Wear Alembika at work, on vacation, at parties, or on special occasions.
I love the feel of the fabric as it is light, airy, and comfortable. She also offers tapered stretch jeans made of ultra-soft stretch cotton with an adjustable drawstring waist if you need room around the middle.
The brand is designed and constructed in Israel but its pieces are shipped directly from the U.S. Shipping is free and returns and refunds are easy. If you are not satisfied with your purchase within 14 days of delivery you can return a non-sale item in its original condition and be refunded minus a $7 processing fee.
Alembika is more than just a clothing line
It is also an online community of women including a Zoom Cafe and online magazine where you can listen to or read conversations with successful women creators, artists, entrepreneurs, and health professionals.
