RelaxUltima Neck Massager: Review

April 20, 2021 by Rebecca Forstadt-Olkowski Leave a Comment

If you haven’t had a pain in the neck as a Baby Boomer, you’re lucky! Sometimes one wrong move can make it feel out of whack. But your neck is a sensitive area, so you must be careful with it. That’s where the RelaxUltima neck massager comes in.

The RelaxUltima neck massager is a compact little gadget that operates on TENS technology. I have written about other TENS products in the past. TENS uses gentle electric impulses that go beneath your skin to reduce pain and help you to relax.

Unboxing the RelaxUltima neck massager

I like the idea of having a neck massager that won’t jiggle your neck like many massagers do so I gave the RelaxUltima a try. Because it’s compact, you can take it anywhere. It would be perfect on a flight, especially if you’re on a long trip because it works silently and wouldn’t disturb your fellow passengers.

The device is simple to use. All you have to do is charge it to a USB port, put it around your neck, and press a button to turn it on. There is a remote control that connects automatically when the device is on and allows you to adjust the level of charge and toggle between 3 massage modes.

One note: The unit is charged when the red light stops flashing and is red. I plugged it into 3 outlets thinking it would turn green because I didn’t read all the instructions. As a Los Angeles-based Baby Boomer, I must have been programmed by Engineer Bill’s red light -stop, green light-go, as a kid.

Letting it work

Because it’s TENS, you should only use it for 15 minutes or less at one time. When you first turn it on, it gets warm. (107F) Then, adjust the power mode to your comfort level. I liked the warmth and the electric charges are barely noticeable.

The heat helps to increase blood circulation in your neck.

Before you put the RelaxUltima around your neck use a wet towel to dampen your neck area. That allows the electric charges to do their work. I have long hair so I put my hair in a ponytail before I tried the device.

Neck massager modes

The RelaxUltima has three massage modes:

  • M1 Acupuncture mode works well for a neck injury
  • M2 Tapping mode is effective if you have chronic cervical pain
  • M3 Massage mode is for everyday soreness, stiffness, and pain

I preferred M3 as I didn’t have particular neck pain but just wanted to relax.

Take it on the go

The RelaxUltima neck massager is cordless so you are able to move around. It’s also lightweight at 5.06 ounces. I found it to be comfortable around my neck so you can use it while watching TV, or working at your computer. Once the battery is charged it will usually last about 1 month so there’s no need to constantly charge it.

It’s ergonomically designed to fit small or large necks and has soft silicone pads for comfort.

Fast delivery!

You can have your RelaxUltima neck massager delivered in 2-5 days which is great if you are in pain.

The downside

Overall, I found the RelaxUltima to be simple and effective. However, you will need to enjoy TENS technology as it’s not for everyone. Some people don’t like the feeling of electrical charges as a pain remedy.

Also, you cannot use it if you have a Pacemaker, use an insulin pump, or have any other implantable electronic device as it can interfere with them and could life-threatening.

There are some other precautions such as don’t use it with jewelry around your neck, in a humid room, if you have neck sores, while driving, sleeping, or using heavy machinery.

If you have a stiff neck, want relief fast, and don’t have a serious medical condition, I recommend it.
